Farmer Optimism

My first jobs starting at 14 years old were horticultural internships at botanical gardens and arboretums. My obsession with flowers, plants and botany knows no bounds. And while my love of gardening came from both sides, my love and understanding of plants (and feminism) came from my mum: A self-described “over educated and outspoken woman” and in my words, a force to be reckoned with and a PhD in Botany and Ecology hippie that danced through glass ceilings left and right with unwavering principals, wicked humor and a prim smile.
